Sendpulse is a multi-channel marketing platform, offering more than just email service. Breaking that down, Sendpulse is a marketing solution that allows users to manage email, web push notifications, SMS, Viber, and chatbot messages on one platform. It is suitable for small and midsize businesses. I will be kind enough to go into full detail, why I think Sendpulse is an amazing solution for almost everyone.

To create an account on Sendpulse is free, easy, and quick, a process that shouldn’t take you more than a minute, and then you’re required to activate your account. As soon as you activate your account you’re taken to the email service page where your journey to the world of email marketing and automation is right before you and it’s never difficult to decide what to do next. For me, I dived straight into creating a mailing list, which will require that you give it a name, and upload contacts. The contact uploading process is straight forward and easy if you’re opting for the upload file or copy and paste upload options. Both require that you have your contacts neatly formatted and sorted, while you’ll need your file in either txt or excel file format to upload using the upload file option. It’s more complicated importing contacts from another service as this requires some technical know-how and time. Individual entry is the fourth upload option, straight forward, easy but time-consuming. The whole process is the same as it is with other email marketing and automation solutions.

Once you’re completely set, you’ll notice that you have been signed up for the free account, which allows you to have up to 500 subscribers, and send up to 15,000 emails per month. When I was reading about Sendpulse, I learned that as of 2018, it had over 800,000 registered users but disappointed that over 80% of that number, opted for the free plan. Looking at it now, who wouldn’t? I am sure you’re already considering it too. Well, It is a known fact that people open SMS more than they open emails and according to Sendpulse, people open 98% of SMS they receive. Despite being given just 10 free SMS messages upon sign up, I still rate Sendpulse for its features; one solution to cater to all your marketing needs. Sendpulse completes its marketing offering with Facebook and Telegram chatbots, and web/browser push notifications which allow you to send notifications that can never be missed.

As much as I find that the free plan offers a mouth-watering offering, I think the paid plan pricing compared to competitors like Mailchimp and Sendinblue is a bit more on the higher side. The entry-level premium plan for e-mail marketing features begins at $8, giving the user a database with a 500 subscriber limit (or the exact same amount as the free plan). There are more email marketing and automation solutions with competitive pricing to Sendpulse but they have a limit set for sent out emails and lock premium features. If you’re not comfortable with the monthly pricing, there’s an option for pay as you go. For SMS, the pricing is strictly paid as you go, and the cost per SMS delivered varies from country to country. The pricing for transactional emails starts at $5.45 and sends up to 25,000 emails monthly. For 30,000 subscribers, The web push pricing starts at $12.22, while the chatbot, at $7.31.

Without an atom of doubt, Sendpulse is a big fan of small businesses and their free plans for all marketing channels are a testament to this. This marketing solution is amazing as it not only offers multi marketing channels, but it also allows a generous free plan across all channels on the platforms. It’s difficult to find an email marketing and automation solution, with not just up 15,000 emails monthly for free, but also unlimited push notifications for 10,000 subscribers, 10,000 bot messages, and 12,000 transactional emails sent monthly, all free.

In 2018 it was recorded that Sendpulse has over 800,000 registered users. I found it disturbing that just 28,000 of them, are paying users. Initially, I interpreted that to be as a result of poor service delivery, or limited features. I was looking for the best solution for startup on a lean budget, but Sendpulse kept popping up in search results, so I did a little more digging and discovered the numbers were as a result of the generosity offered by the free plans. I strongly believe 12,000 emails per month, for free, is a great opportunity for any startup looking at the option of email marketing and automation.

Of all its features, the one I find more intriguing is the web push marketing channel. The opportunity of sending unlimited push notifications to 9,999 subscribers every month. The excitement is not from the numbers, but this simply guarantees an increase in conversion.

You can use Sendpulse’s bulk SMS service to notify your customers about the arrival of new stock, Sales, Discounts, Order status., the Payment due on their account, etc. There are endless ways you can use web push notifications. For example trigger notifications to remind a customer of an uncompleted transaction, News, and information about sales and offers. You can easily program chatbots to suggest products to customers, based on their interests.
